Brood Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Brood, operated by the Brood service operator ("Brood," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, stores, and protects information when authorized users connect Brood to eBay, Etsy, WooCommerce, or other supported services.
Brood is a listing and inventory management service currently operating in private beta. Access is limited to authorized shop owners and approved development or testing accounts.
Information Brood May Process
The information Brood processes depends on which integrations and features an authorized user enables.
Brood may process:
- Listing titles, descriptions, photographs, prices, categories, tags, SKUs, quantities, and listing status.
- Shop, seller, or marketplace account identifiers.
- Inventory and synchronization records.
- Order and transaction identifiers.
- Buyer or customer information, such as names, email addresses, and shipping information, when access to order or fulfillment information is enabled.
- API credentials, authorization codes, access tokens, refresh tokens, webhook information, and similar technical credentials.
- Application settings, synchronization history, error reports, security records, and standard server logs.
Brood does not request or store a user's eBay, Etsy, WooCommerce, or other marketplace password. Connected accounts are accessed through the authorization methods or API credentials provided by the applicable platform.
eBay Information
When an authorized user connects an eBay account, Brood may access listing, inventory, seller account, order, fulfillment, and transaction information permitted by the user's authorization and the eBay APIs being used.
Brood uses eBay information only to provide authorized listing and inventory management functions, including importing listings, preparing listing changes, publishing approved updates, monitoring listing status, synchronizing inventory, identifying completed sales, and helping reduce the risk that unique items remain available on another connected platform after a detected sale.
Brood does not sell eBay information or use it for unrelated advertising.
When required by eBay, Brood may receive account closure or deletion notifications. Brood will delete or anonymize associated personal information when it is no longer reasonably necessary, when a valid deletion request is received, or when deletion is required by eBay or applicable law.
Etsy Information
When an authorized user connects an Etsy shop, Brood may access shop information, listings, photographs, inventory, listing status, transactions, receipts, and other information permitted by the user's authorization and Etsy's API.
Brood uses Etsy information to support listing review, inventory management, status tracking, controlled listing updates, synchronization, and other functions authorized by the shop owner.
Brood does not sell Etsy member information or use it for unrelated advertising.
WooCommerce Information
When an authorized user connects a WooCommerce store, Brood may process the store URL, API credentials, products, variations, photographs, SKUs, prices, inventory quantities, orders, customer information, webhook events, and synchronization records.
Brood uses WooCommerce information to manage products, coordinate inventory, process authorized listing updates, monitor sales, and help remove or deactivate corresponding listings after a detected sale through another connected channel.
How Information Is Used
Brood may use information to:
- Operate and maintain authorized integrations.
- Import, review, prepare, publish, and update listings.
- Synchronize inventory and listing status between connected services.
- Identify sales and reduce the risk of duplicate sales.
- Provide application support and troubleshoot errors.
- Maintain application security and prevent unauthorized activity.
- Test and improve Brood's functionality.
- Comply with marketplace requirements, legal obligations, and valid data deletion requests.
How Information Is Shared
Brood does not sell or rent personal information.
Information may be disclosed only when reasonably necessary to:
- Communicate with a connected marketplace, ecommerce platform, or service selected by the authorized user.
- Use hosting, storage, security, backup, email, or other technical service providers that support Brood's operation.
- Comply with applicable law, a lawful request, or a valid marketplace requirement.
- Investigate security incidents, prevent fraud, or protect the rights and safety of Brood, authorized users, or others.
Brood does not disclose marketplace information to unrelated third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
Authorization Credentials
Brood may store API keys, access tokens, refresh tokens, and similar credentials needed to maintain an authorized platform connection.
These credentials are used only to perform functions approved by the authorized user. Access may be revoked through Brood, through the connected platform, or by contacting Brood support.
Authorized users are responsible for protecting their Brood access credentials and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
Data Retention and Deletion
Brood retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the application, maintain synchronization records, investigate errors or security events, meet legal obligations, and comply with connected-platform requirements.
Information may be deleted or anonymized when:
- An authorized user disconnects an account and requests deletion.
- The information is no longer needed for Brood's authorized purpose.
- A connected platform submits a valid account closure or deletion request.
- Retention is no longer required by law, contract, security needs, or a legitimate operational requirement.
Residual copies may temporarily remain in secured backups until those backups are replaced through the normal backup rotation process.
Deletion requests may be submitted to support@broodportal.com.
Security
Brood uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information being processed.
Access to Brood is restricted to authorized users and approved development or testing accounts. Brood is designed to limit access to marketplace information and authorization credentials to people and systems that require that access for an approved purpose.
No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Security incidents and credential compromise remain possible despite reasonable safeguards. Authorized users should notify Brood support promptly if they suspect that an account, API credential, or Brood connection has been compromised. Brood may take reasonable steps to investigate suspected incidents consistent with applicable law and operational needs.
Server Logs, Cookies, and Local Storage
Brood's website, application server, hosting provider, and security services may generate standard technical logs. These logs may include IP addresses, browser information, request times, error information, and security events.
On the Brood Portal website (broodportal.com), Brood does not set first-party cookies on static pages. The request-access form may load Cloudflare Turnstile, which may set third-party or security-related cookies.
On the Brood application (app.broodportal.com), Brood uses httpOnly session cookies for authentication and trusted-device recognition. Brood may use browser local storage for interface preferences such as theme and display size, and session storage for ephemeral UI state such as banner dismissals and in-progress listing drafts. Brood does not use analytics, advertising, or interest-based tracking cookies in the application.
Brood does not use marketplace information for interest-based advertising.
Children's Information
Brood is a business listing and inventory management tool. It is not directed to children and is not intended to collect personal information from children.
Third-Party Services
eBay, Etsy, WooCommerce, and other connected services maintain their own privacy policies and terms. Brood's Privacy Policy applies only to information processed by Brood and does not replace the policies of those third-party services.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Brood's features, integrations, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are made.
Material changes may require affirmative acknowledgment before continued use. Where practical, Brood will use version tracking and in-product prompts rather than relying solely on continued use.
Contact
Questions, access requests, correction requests, deletion requests, and security concerns may be submitted to support@broodportal.com.
Brood Terms and Conditions
Effective date: August 26, 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of Brood.
Brood is operated by the Brood service operator ("Brood," "we," "us," or "our"). Brood is a listing and inventory management service used to help authorized shop owners manage, review, prepare, publish, and synchronize listings and inventory across supported ecommerce and marketplace services.
By accessing Brood or authorizing Brood to connect to an account, the user agrees to these Terms and Conditions and the Brood Privacy Policy.
Private Beta Service
Brood is currently in active development and private beta and is not available as a general public service.
Access is limited to authorized shop owners and approved development or testing accounts. Features may be incomplete, experimental, temporarily unavailable, or changed without notice. Using Brood against live ecommerce accounts during private beta may involve software defects, incorrect or incomplete results, failure to perform an intended action, temporary unavailability, synchronization discrepancies, mapping or field-mapping errors, inventory-mapping errors, data loss or data corruption, or unexpected marketplace actions or responses.
Private-beta users should exercise increased supervision over connected accounts and should independently verify business-critical marketplace activity. These possibilities are inherent to beta software used with live shops; they are not presented as constant or expected errors. Brood during private beta should not be relied upon as infallible business infrastructure.
Access to Brood does not create a right to continued access or require Brood to be made publicly available.
Authorized Use
Brood may be used only by people who have permission to access the connected shop, store, seller account, listings, inventory, orders, and related information.
An authorized user may use Brood only for legitimate shop administration, listing management, inventory management, synchronization, testing, and related business purposes.
Users may not:
- Access an account or information without the account owner's permission.
- Use Brood to violate the rules of eBay, Etsy, WooCommerce, or another connected service.
- Use marketplace or customer information for unauthorized advertising, profiling, resale, or unrelated purposes.
- Attempt to bypass Brood's access controls or security measures.
- Interfere with Brood, its servers, its integrations, or another user's account.
- Copy, reverse engineer, distribute, sublicense, or commercially offer Brood without written authorization.
- Use Brood for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive activity.
Connected Accounts
Brood may connect to third-party services through OAuth authorization, API keys, webhooks, or other methods provided by the applicable service.
The authorized user is responsible for:
- Ensuring that the user has authority to connect each account.
- Reviewing and approving the permissions granted to Brood.
- Keeping Brood credentials and platform credentials secure.
- Revoking access when access is no longer appropriate.
- Reviewing proposed listing, inventory, or account changes before approving them when review controls are available.
- Monitoring the connected accounts for unexpected activity.
Brood does not request a user's eBay, Etsy, or other marketplace password. Users should not provide marketplace passwords through Brood.
Listing and Inventory Accuracy
Brood is intended to assist with listing and inventory management, but it does not guarantee that listings, quantities, prices, categories, descriptions, photographs, synchronization records, or sales information will always be complete, current, or error-free.
Authorized users remain responsible for reviewing:
- Listing content before publication.
- Prices, quantities, SKUs, categories, shipping settings, and product information.
- Marketplace fees, taxes, policies, and legal requirements.
- Orders, cancellations, refunds, fulfillment requirements, and customer communications.
- Whether a unique item remains available on another sales channel.
Users should maintain appropriate records and should verify important changes directly through the connected platform.
Timing, Automation, and Sale Protection
Brood is designed to reduce the time and manual effort involved in coordinating listings and inventory across connected platforms. Brood is not a real-time or guaranteed sale-prevention system.
Connected platforms may delay, omit, duplicate, or deliver events out of order. APIs, webhooks, marketplace processing, networks, hosting, VPS or application hosting outages, database failures or unavailability, background worker or queue processing failures, Cloudflare or DNS outages, and other dependencies may be unavailable, throttled, delayed, or return incomplete or incorrect information. After Brood learns about a sale, additional time is required to process the event, request changes from other platforms, receive responses, and verify the resulting state.
Another customer may purchase the same unique item during that window. This can occur even when Brood and the connected platforms are operating normally. Brood's purpose is to reduce duplicate-sale risk and operational workload, not to eliminate every race condition or platform failure.
Authorized users remain responsible for:
- Monitoring connected stores and important Brood status information.
- Independently verifying business-critical marketplace activity.
- Managing orders, cancellations, refunds, customer communication, duplicate-sale situations, and other inventory conflicts.
Brood assists with shop operations; it does not assume responsibility for running the shop or meeting the user's marketplace obligations.
Pulse, Reconciliation, and Review
Brood may use scheduled checks (Pulse), drift or reconciliation workflows, and review queues to help detect stale listings, inventory mismatches, or other conditions that may need attention.
These features are additional safeguards, not guarantees of completeness, timeliness, or accuracy. Sale-protection risk may remain unknown until Pulse, webhooks, or other signals confirm marketplace activity. Users must still monitor marketplace notifications, Brood alerts, review items, and other important shop activity themselves.
Notifications
Brood notifications, including email or similar operational alerts, are provided as an aid rather than as a guaranteed monitoring system. Notifications may be delayed, filtered, duplicated, blocked, or fail to arrive. They should not be the user's sole means of monitoring marketplace activity. Brood does not promise notification delivery within any particular timeframe or that notifications will always be successful.
Third-Party Platforms
Brood depends on third-party services, including eBay, Etsy, WooCommerce, hosting providers, and other technical services.
Those services may experience outages, degraded service, API latency, webhook delay or loss, duplicate or out-of-order events, rate limiting or throttling, authentication or permission changes, incomplete or erroneous responses, or platform-side processing delays. Brood cannot control these systems.
Those services may also change their APIs, permissions, policies, availability, fees, or technical requirements at any time. A third-party change may limit or disable part of Brood without prior notice.
Use of a connected service remains subject to that service's own terms, policies, seller requirements, and privacy notices. These Brood Terms and Conditions do not replace any agreement between the user and a connected service.

Brood is an independent service that interoperates with eBay through APIs or other integration mechanisms. Brood may use eBay APIs to provide authorized listing, inventory, order, fulfillment, or synchronization functions.

Users must comply with all applicable eBay agreements, policies, seller rules, and API requirements.

The store owner remains responsible for the security and permissions of WooCommerce API credentials and for the store's compliance with applicable privacy, consumer-protection, tax, and ecommerce requirements.
Shopify
Brood is an independent service that may interoperate with Shopify through APIs or other integration mechanisms when supported. Brood is not provided, operated, sponsored, endorsed, or certified by Shopify except where expressly stated. Shopify is not responsible for Brood's operation, support, availability, or performance.
Intellectual Property
Brood, its original software, interface, documentation, design, and related materials are owned by the Brood service operator or the applicable rights holder.
These Terms provide authorized users with limited permission to use Brood for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of Brood or grant rights to reproduce, distribute, sell, license, or create derivative services from Brood.
The names, trademarks, service marks, and content of third-party platforms remain the property of their respective owners.
Third-Party Names and Trademarks
eBay, Etsy, WooCommerce, Woo, WordPress, Shopify, and other third-party names, trademarks, service marks, logos, and other brand assets displayed or referenced by Brood are the property of their respective owners. Brood uses them to identify compatible or connected services with which Brood works or interoperates.
Displaying or referring to a third-party brand does not imply that Brood owns that brand, or that the third party sponsors, endorses, certifies, partners with, or is affiliated with Brood, except where expressly stated. Brood is independently developed and operated. Third-party platforms do not provide, operate, warrant, or support Brood.
Obtaining a third-party logo, API access, or integration capability does not transfer ownership of that party's trademarks, logos, service marks, trade dress, or other brand assets to Brood.
Privacy
Brood's collection and use of information are described in the Brood Privacy Policy located on this page under the Privacy Policy section.
By using Brood, the user acknowledges the practices described in that policy.
Availability and Changes
Brood may be updated, modified, suspended, restricted, or discontinued at any time.
Brood may introduce or remove integrations, change access requirements, disable an account connection, or restrict a feature when reasonably necessary for development, maintenance, security, legal compliance, or compliance with a connected platform's requirements.
No guarantee is made that Brood will be available continuously, within any response time, or that every integration will remain supported.
Security
Brood uses reasonable safeguards intended to protect accounts, credentials, and processed information. No electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure. Security incidents and credential compromise remain possible despite those safeguards.
Users must promptly revoke or rotate credentials and notify Brood if compromise is suspected. Brood may impose temporary restrictions, disable connections, or suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate or contain a suspected security incident.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Brood is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Brood service operator disclaims all express and implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, security, non-infringement, and compatibility with third-party services.
Brood may contain errors or experience interruptions, failed synchronizations, delayed updates, incomplete imports, incorrect platform responses, or other technical problems.
No statement or communication creates a warranty unless it is expressly provided in a separate written agreement signed by the Brood service operator.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, the user will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Brood service operator from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- The user's unauthorized connection to or access of another person's account or information.
- The user's unlawful or fraudulent use of Brood.
- The user's violation of marketplace rules resulting from the user's own conduct.
- Listing, product, or other content supplied by the user that infringes or violates applicable law or third-party rights.
- The user's material violation of these Terms.
This section does not require the user to indemnify the Brood service operator for claims arising solely from Brood's own intentional misconduct where such limitation is not permitted by law.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Brood service operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to Brood.
This includes lost profits, lost sales, duplicate sales, lost listings, incorrect prices, inventory discrepancies, marketplace penalties, account restrictions, data loss, service interruption, customer claims, or loss of business opportunities.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Brood service operator's aggregate liability for direct damages arising from or related to Brood will not exceed the total amounts actually paid by the user to Brood for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Authorized users remain responsible for reviewing material listing and inventory changes and for maintaining appropriate backups, records, and marketplace controls.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Suspension and Termination
Access to Brood may be suspended or terminated when:
- A user no longer has authorization from the shop or account owner.
- Brood is used in violation of these Terms.
- A security risk or suspected compromise is identified.
- A connected platform requires access to be restricted or terminated.
- Continued access may create legal, operational, or technical risk.
- Brood is discontinued.
Upon termination, authorization credentials may be revoked and associated information may be deleted or retained as described in the Brood Privacy Policy.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms and Conditions may be updated as Brood's features, integrations, or legal obligations change.
The effective date at the top of this section will be revised when material changes are made. Material changes may require affirmative re-acceptance before continued use. Where practical, Brood will use version tracking and in-product prompts rather than relying solely on continued use.
General Provisions
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
Waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
Assignment. The user may not assign or transfer these Terms or access to Brood without Brood's prior written consent. Brood may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
Entire agreement. These Terms, the Brood Privacy Policy, and any separate written agreement expressly referenced by Brood constitute the entire agreement regarding Brood, except for any agreement between the user and a connected third-party platform.
Force majeure. Brood is not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, including internet or network failures, cloud or hosting outages, VPS or application hosting failures, database outages, background worker or queue failures, Cloudflare or DNS outages, marketplace outages, platform or API changes, power failures, governmental actions, labor disputes, natural disasters, or similar events.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where another law must apply.
